Academic Exchange Agreement Signed with Hallym Sacred Heart University
On Friday, June 5, 2026, Chairperson of the Board Kenjiro Kohri and President Hirotaka Ohara visited Hallym Sacred Heart University in Chuncheon, Republic of Korea, and participated in a signing ceremony for an Academic
Exchange Agreement. In addition to Chairperson Kohri and President Ohara, the ceremony was attended by Professor Yasue Kubota, Dean of the Graduate School of Nursing; Professor Chagyun Jung and Associate Professor Kotomi Yamaguchi of the Graduate School of Nursing; Professor Ippei Nojima and Lecturer Nana Takenaka of the Division of Rehabilitation Sciences, Department of Health Sciences, and Koichi Ota, Manager of the International Affairs Office, and Katsuaki Kobayashi, Sention Chief of the International Affairs Office.
The Academic Exchange Agreement originated from a proposal made last summer by Professor Lee Ju-Sang of the Department of Rehabilitation, College of Health and Medical Sciences, Hallym Sacred Heart University, for the establishment of both an exchange agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Hallym Sacred Heart University is operated by the Ilsong Educational Foundation, which also administers Hallym University, one of Nagoya City University’s Contact Points. Given the strong existing relationship with Hallym University and the significant potential for mutual development through educational and research collaboration in fields such as nursing and rehabilitation sciences, the two universities agreed to establish this inter-university partnership.
During the signing ceremony, greetings were delivered by Chairman Yoon Hee-Sung of the Ilsong Educational Foundation, President Moon Young-Sik of Hallym Sacred Heart University, Chairman Kohri, and President Ohara. The representatives introduced their respective institutions, and commemorative gifts were exchanged.
We hope that this agreement will further strengthen the ties between Nagoya City University and the Ilsong Educational Foundation, including both Hallym University and Hallym Sacred Heart University, leading to an even closer and more productive partnership while contributing to deeper friendship and cooperation between Japan and the Republic of Korea.
Following the signing of the agreement, approximately 30 students studying nursing and rehabilitation sciences at Hallym Sacred Heart University are scheduled to visit Nagoya City University in mid-July as part of their Interprofessional Education (IPE) program. During their stay, they will participate in a short-term training program designed to promote interdisciplinary learning and collaboration.
